Be You. Be Creative.

24 Mar 2025

Did you know? Hidden within Hiba Academy Nantong campus lies a real-life "Wakanda-style tech workshop" – our Design and Technology studio! At Hiba Academy, Design and Technology (DT) is not just a subject we teach, but a journey of awakening creativity and connecting with the real world. We believe education should ignite passion, and through diverse hands-on

programmes, our DT curriculum transforms pupils' wildest imaginations into meaningful innovations.

In our Design and Technology classrooms, the boundaries between art and science have dissolved. Pupils explore the precision of textile technology, uncover the alchemy of food technology where science meets culinary arts , and bridge eras through projects ranging from traditional woodworking to modern electronics and control systems. Grade 1-5 classes follow alongside the Theme lessons, making cross curricular links. Grade 6-8 are based on the UK DT curriculum and include units such as Textiles, CAD/CAM, Food Technology and Woodwork.

Every creation here tells a story of cognitive leaps. Our "learning by doing" philosophy turns circuit soldering into engineering epiphanies, transforms 3D-printed blueprints into tactile prototypes, and evolves laser-cut designs into lessons in precision. Whether debugging smart devices or perfecting food formulations, each challenge becomes a forge for critical thinking and resilience.

The ultimate goal of our Design and Technology education is to nurture future-ready innovators. We value every pupil's unique creative spark – whether it's crafting eco-friendly chairs using ancient mortise-and-tenon joints or programming sensor-driven smart greenhouses. In our studios, young hands learn to articulate their vision of the world through technology.

From traditional craftsmanship to digital fabrication, from individual ideation to team collaboration, we empower every young mind to find its creative voice. At Hiba Academy Nantong, ideas take flight!
