Adventures in Nature

21 Oct 2024

Falling leaves signal the arrival of autumn, filled with children's delight. Autumn begins with falling leaves—yellow, orange, and red. The leaves, like little fairies, drift down with the wind, captivating children's interest. Following their curiosity, we venture into the autumn filled with falling leaves. Together with nature, we collect leaves, play games, perceive, discover, explore, imagine, and create.

This natural adventure with peers enriches the interactions and relationships among the children. Their innate curiosity about nature leads them to more authentic and diverse experiences in the natural world.

We combine the teaching philosophy of Hiba Academy Nantong with the teaching experience of European forest schools. The goal is to provide children with opportunities to explore nature, cultivate, and develop a range of skills, and build connections with nature and others. These abilities include, but are not limited to, risk assessment capability, emotion management, collaborative learning, independence, problem-solving, and the appreciation of the natural world.

We believe that a child's development and exploration have no boundaries, and extending these activities outdoors is both essential and inevitable. "Learning from nature, guided by natural instincts," in the "classroom without walls," children listen with their ears, observe with their eyes, and touch with their little hands, independently exploring and discovering the secrets of autumn.
